Ron Paul's Lone Jewish Staffer Speaks Out

Ron Paul, my former boss, is not an explicit Anti-Semite, but he is most certainly anti-Israel and one could make a strong case - outright anti-Jewish.

During my 6-year stint with him, I served as his only Jewish staffer. He regularly touted me as proof against allegations that he wasn’t an Anti-Semite, even one time ordering me to wear Jewish clothing and attend a press conference of his Democrat opponent who was exposing his links to Anti-Semitic groups. I felt used.

(For the record, Ron did not know I was Jewish until I had already been hired.)

Ron and I finally departed ways, partly because I was ashamed to work for such an explicitly anti-Israel advocate.

If you still doubt his anti-Jewish/anti-Israel views, ask yourself this question:

Why is it that when Ron Paul talks about the evils of taxpayer dollars going overseas for foreign aid, he only singles out Israel as a recipient? Why does he never mention the billions we send each year to Egypt for foreign aide? Turkey, the Palestinians, other Nations? Never a peep out of Paul about those dollars. It’s just always the “Jews.”

"Former Ron Paul aide and founder of the Libertarian Republican Caucus, Eric Dondero, who also founded MainstreamLibertarian.com and hosts blogtalk radio show Libertarian Politics Live.

In an interview with Dondero, he emphatically complained; “Please refrain in the future from using the label "Libertarian Republican" in describing Ron Paul. Call him what he is: Some sort of populist leftwinger.”

Dondero continued, “Since 9/11 Paul has become a complete nutcase conspiratorialist quasi-Anti-Semitic leftwing American-hating nutball.”

Although he is running as a Republican, he actually has very little support from rank and file Republicans, as every national Republican poll confirms. But it turns out that he has very little support from mainstream Libertarians either. As Dondero pointed out, “Ron Paul is only attracting support from the leftwing side of the libertarian spectrum, virtually none of whom are Republicans.”

According to official campaign fund raising filings posted at http://www.opensecrets.org/, Ron Paul’s top contributor is well known internet giant Google. Google, with Al Gore on the board of directors, has a long history of progressive political activism, both in the way they censor search results to bury conservative slanted stories, and in their campaign contribution habits, which is solidly Democrat, with the exception of Ron Paul.
Other tech giants like Microsoft and Verizon top his donors list as well.

Among Ron Paul’s top donor zip codes are of course parts of Texas, but also heavily liberal districts in Chicago (60614), San Francisco (94117), more than 80% of which supports Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer, and Los Angeles – Long Beach, which is his second largest donor area after Dallas.

What we have here is a candidate trying to win the Republican nomination by raising money from liberals across the political aisle.

This is why his fund-raising is not translating to improved poll positions.

His donors are not Republicans. So no matter how much money he raises, it is not translating into Republican support in the polls. He remains at or below 5% support in every national Republican poll, no matter how much money he raises.

They're gonna spam and scam their way to the White House...

Christine Horton of Crowley said her account was charged several times to support Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.

"I had never even heard of him," she said. "I was like, 'Oh my God! Someone is stealing from me."

Monday the Paul campaign made history. They raised more than $4 million online in 24 hours from more than 36,000 contributors.

Frost Bank investigators discovered overseas thieves used Paul's Web site to test stolen cards with $5 contributions."

The Ron Paul campaign has noticed that dozens, perhaps hundreds of these ~~charges~~ thefts have occurred," said Jesse Benton, a finance coordinator for Congressman Paul's campaign.

"We are in the process of refunding that money."

We could set up an account for collecting donations from out of the country. Then people who havent given the max could divvy it out. We could automate it with paypal or egold or something. Could it be made legal Is it ethical Leave a reply and help us figure something out.

Earlier this week, MilitaryForPaul.com broke with the big announcement:

"Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) endorses Ron Paul"

Except... that's not completely true. Turns out that way back when, the VFW-PAC endorsed Ron Paul in the 2004 and 2006 Texas Congressional races, but... not they're not endorsing Dr. Paul for POTUS. Oh no. Not at all.

The VFW had this to say...

The body of your statement is correct on what the VFW organization does for Veterans. However, by your title, you are implying that the VFW is endorsing candidate Ron Paul for the 2008 Presidential election. This title is untrue and needs to be corrected immediately. If this announcement is not corrected we will have no choice but to notify our 2 million members and the national media with a press conference that this announcement is untrue, deceiving and manipulative.

Brandon Lloyd of Americans United for Freedom PAC took issue:

You are incorrect that we were trying to imply VFW endorsed Ron Paul for President. To the contrary, the text clearly read, "Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) endorses Ron Paul." We didn't state "for Congress" or "for President," we simply said you endorsed him and that's correct (as you yourself indicated). With all your fancy lawyers, I'd think you'd realize this. You have no legal basis to stand on, so your statement of facts is incorrect, and I'd like to point that out to you. Not as a response to your ludicrous claims and demands (shouldn't you guys be spending time helping Veterans instead of picking on the little guy?) - but instead because of a concern brought up by a fellow Ron Paul supporter - the site has been updated to reflect that this endorsement was indeed for Congress in 2004 and 2006, to avoid any possible ambiguity.We, Sir, have no need to be ambiguous, as apparently (and regretfully) may be perceived by the reader of the website, because Ron Paul's record speaks for itself.
